Elgin distiller Glen Moray have released a limited edition ‘Elgin’ bottling celebrating the town that Glen Moray has called home since 1897.
Elgin locals will have their first opportunity to taste and buy the limited edition dram on Saturday 3rd December, 2022, when Glen Moray are holding an open day from 10am until 4pm with some special tastings and treats on offer.
The Elgin city whisky bottling was conceived to coincide with Elgin’s failed bid for official city status earlier this year, and a shortlist of two designs was put to social media followers to vote on in April.
The Glen Moray Elgin Whisky is limited to 1600 bottles with a small number available to buy at the distillery from the 3rd December. It is a 10 year old single malt finished in chardonnay casks, non chill filtered and with no added colour. The colourful label features local highlights, Elgin Cathedral, the Duke of Gordon Monument on Lady Hill, the Dandy Lion and Elgin’s Town Drummer statues, the High Street fountain and a Glen Moray still.
The Glen Moray Elgin Edition 10 Year Old is 46% ABV and set to retail at £65.
