Getting around Elgin by bike is a very feasible option – there are a few bike hire options and there is some great cycling infrastructure in and around Elgin.

Outfit Moray
Social enterprise Outfit Moray have a range of bikes for hire including mountain bikes, electric bikes, urban bikes and an IceTrike. Although they are based in Lossiemouth 6 miles from the centre of Elgin, it is a short taxi ride, a manageable walk and an easy cycle away. Brompton Bike Hire
Folding bike supremos Brompton have a bike hire ‘dock’ at Elgin railway station with 8 lockers each containing a bike available for hire. Ideal bikes for zipping about the town, but not advised for going too far further afield. These bikes are available 24/7/365 and accessed simply using the app.
Bike Paths and Routes around Elgin
The Moray Way have signposted a circular cycle route starting and ending in Elgin and taking you on a trip through Elgin and into some beautiful countryside. Check out the Elgin Experience route and some other cycle routes in the area.
The Moray Monster Trails at Fochabers offers some great fun single track mountain biking adventures just 9 miles to the east of Elgin. Outfit Moray recommend some bikeable trails nearby.
Elgin sits on National Cycle Route 1 which connects Aberdeen and Inverness along much of the north-east coast – which is actually part of a national route connecting John O’Groats and Dover.
