Fishing
The River Lossie runs through Elgin and offers fun and affordable fishing. Nearby is the mighty Spey, which any serious angler will relish the opportunity to fish. There are also a variety of hill lochs, and stocked fisheries within a few miles of Elgin.

Kart Track
Just outside Elgin, Elgin Kart Raceway have a 500m kart track, mini tanks, laser tag, and laser clay pigeon shooting. For serious fast fun, the wetter the better.

Moray Leisure Centre has excellent Ice Rink facilities catering for all ages, abilities or interests.
From Skating to Curling, Ice Hockey to Figure Skating; from the absolute beginner to the serious skater – with Ice Discos and Children’s Parties also held regularly.
Curling
The traditional Scottish winter sport of curling is played by young and old. Many local clubs engage in serious competition but a lot of people play just for fun, organizing games between friends and workmates. Enquire at Moray Leisure Centre for details.
Museums
Elgin Museum is best known for the Pictish Stones and unique local fossils, but the wide ranging collections also include Archaeology, Geology, Natural History, Social History, and Ethnography.
Moray Motor Museum houses a superb collection of veteran, vintage, classic cars and motorbikes.
Distilleries
Elgin and the immediate area boasts a number of local distillers including Glenmoray, Benriach and Glen Elgin. Glenmoray is open to the public, run tours and have an on site cafe.
Malt Whisky Trail
Elgin is on the popular Malt Whisky Trail. Follow the signposted road tour which visits six malt whisky distilleries, a former distillery and a cooperage. The trail is approximately 70 miles long and an hour should be allowed for each visit. You will have the opportunity to see the production processes and to buy products in the specialist shops.
Cinema
The Moray Playhouse cinema in Elgin provides you with the latest blockbuster movies. Situated in the town centre, it’s only minutes from great bars and restaurants.
Ten Pin Bowling
Pinz, just outside the town centre, has a well equipped 14 lane bowling facility, a kids soft play area – Planet Pinz, and a bar and restaurant.

Moray Sports Centre is a sports and fitness facility with a gym, sports halls, a packed timetable of classes, bike hire, massage therapy and a cafe.
Cooper Park
Elgin’s central park – a forty acre park in the center of Elgin which, together with Grant Lodge, built around 1750 as the residence of the Earls of Seafield, was gifted to the town in 1902 by Sir George Cooper. The park provides some recreational facilities including 3 outdoor tennis courts which can be booked online.
